Slipper Clutch Systems

The purpose of a slipper clutch is to temporarily reduce the amount of friction on a clutch during rapid downshifting, which to a degree disconnects the final transmission and drive of a motorcycle.
This results in an increase in rear wheel freewheeling and a decrease in engine braking.Using a slipper clutch will increase your corner speed by decreasing the engine braking and increasing freewheeling. A slipper clutch increases the control of a motorcycle by eliminating a situation bikers refer to as “rear wheel hop” caused by engine speed and rear wheel speed not properly matched during downshift.
